With special focuses on Joint Replacement Surgery, Fractures and Pediatrics, Dr. Jeffries has provided expertise and compassionate care to AOD's patients since 1979.
Dr. Jeffries received his undergraduate degree in zoology from Michigan State University in 1968. He then attended Wayne State University where he completed his M.S. in Biology degree in 1970 and his medical degree in 1974, and was awarded the Distinguished Service Award by Wayne State University School of Medicine. As a student, he was also honored with the Student Research Award by the Michigan Heart Association. Post-residency, Dr. Jeffries received specialty training during fellowships in Hand Surgery and Foot Surgery.
As the great-nephew of the four-term former Detroit mayor Edward J. Jeffries, Dr. Jeffries has an intrinsic affection for the Detroit area. He continues to dedicate himself to the health and well being of the community through his medical work at AOD, in the operating room and as secretary/treasurer of the Board of Trustees at William Beaumont, Grosse Pointe. His service to others has also taken him far beyond the area by volunteering his medical care to some of the world’s neediest patients in Lima, Peru, through the non-profit group Orthopaedics Overseas.
Dr. Jeffries is currently accepting new patients.
