Shariff K. Bishai, D.O., M.S., FAOAO

Dr. Bishai received both Bachelor and Master Degrees in Science at Michigan State University. He received his Doctor of Osteopathy from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2001.

He completed an Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Henry Ford Macomb Warren Hospital, followed by an Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at Plancher Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in New York, NY. He specializes in arthroscopic surgery as well as shoulder and knee replacements and reconstructions. He does the vast majority of his complex cases arthroscopically including rotator cuff repairs, labral repairs, meniscal repairs and ACL and PCL reconstructions. Dr Bishai also does hip arthroscopy and has trained with two of the leading hip arthroscopists. He has published numerous papers in the orthopaedic literature and has spoken at multiple national orthopaedic meetings. He also serves as a Associate Master Instructor for the Arthroscopy Assocation of North America (AANA) teaching other orthopaedic surgeons arthroscopic skills. Dr. Bishai is board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Osteopathic Association. Dr. Bishai is a Fellow of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics (FAOAO). He is a Clinical Instructor for the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Presently, Dr. Bishai serves as the Secretary for the Detroit Academy of Orthopedics Surgeons.

Dr. Bishai is on staff at William Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital, Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, Mt. Clemens Regional Medical Center and St. John Main and Macomb Hospitals. He is accepting new patients.
